Educational institutions are the assets and invaluable legacy of a nation. A great nation is one which stands on the edifice provided by its educational institutions. It is the value based education which brings out the best in a man. Imparting education should not remain as a mere process of making people literate but it should be a means for acquisition of knowledge to be utilized for the welfare of the people. Some of the maladies from which people are suffering can be certainly cured by value based education. It is the moral obligation of each and every one of us to make the moral fibre of the nation stronger for ever.
Legal education has a role to play in the constructive development of a nation. There is an obligation on the legal fraternity to create legal awareness among the people. They must be made aware of not only their rights but also duties. The hallmark of a civilized nation lies in obedience to law. To quote Cicero “We are the slaves of law that we may be free”.
The Legal profession in the 21 Century has become all the more challenging, opening new vistas, as a result of globalization and advancement in the sphere of science and technology. It is the need of the hour that the law students must have skills of advocacy to cope up with the new challenge.
I wish all my students a glorious future and all the best in all walks of their life.
