CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY CELEBRATION 2021
On 15 th March 2021, World Consumer rights day celebrated in the college in association with IQAC
Sri.G.V.K. Murthy, Advocate, High court of Karnataka was the chief guest. Dr. Ravindranath Shanbhag, President , Human Rights Protection foundation presided over the function.
Adv.G.V..K Murthy, spoke about the evolution of consumer rights and the theme of consumer rights 2021. This year, “Tackling Plastic Pollution”is the theme announced by Consumer International. Sir also enriched our knowledge by pointing towards the ill effects of plastic pollution. He also narrated the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 , the changes brought out by the new Act of 2019 and the salient features of the Act. He concluded by saying that consumer rights have to be protected for the well being of the society.
Dr. Ravindranath Sahnbag in his presidential speech explained his practical experiences as a consumer and human right activist. Almost 100 Students attended both online and offline.
