STUDENTS’ EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
A student empowerment program on ‘Professionalism and Social etiquettes’ was organised on 27 th January 2021 at Vaikunta Baliga College of Law
The resource person of the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) C. S. Patil, Dean and Director, Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi, during his address, explained about the conceptual difference between ‘Professional’ and ‘Professionally qualified’. He tried to explain about three important etiquettes as suggested by Mr. Subotro Bagchi – ability to work unsupervised, ability to certify completion of work and integrity.
He also tried to quote 16 important etiquettes that must be the part of an individual’s personality. He explained about the different versions of professionalism, as explained by Peter Buffet in his book ‘Life is what you make it’, L.K. Advani’s ‘My country my life’, Sudish Rai’s ‘Legends in Law’ and he also stressed upon how being professional is a personal choice.
The principal of the institution Prof. (Dr.) Nirmala Kumari K presided the function. About 100 Students attended the programme both online and offline.
